Kicad Schematic Library Maker [Win/Mac]
For the last years we have made a lot of work on Kicad Schematic libraries. We have try a lot of different approaches to be able to help the community with schematic libraries, we have developed a way to help the community to be able to use the same library for all project, to be able to publish them in another database…
After the last version of Kicad (v5.3) the lib-maker tool is now obsolete.
And also i did a small change on the name, i changed the lib- maker “Make Library” into just “Schematic Library” because of the GUI-homepage which the lib-maker tools shows.
So i thought you better have a look on this new page for more info about creating schematic libraries with the latest vx”s of Kicad (v5.4)
And maybe i will make some new tutorials about how to create schematic libraries
I am using this extension, although I use some other tools for USB To UART communication. The Peculiar USB Driver for Altera FPGAs allows you to use your usb-devices as the altera’s UARTs. But i had some trouble when i was experimenting with it. So i have tried it on STM32 with STM32CubeIOT and it worked flawless.
I am using the PECULIAR USB driver for the STM32 with the STM32Cube-IOT. It also works with the STM32 SmartFusion but i did not had much luck to run the softuart through the FPGA board. The PECULIAR USB driver in the step4.4 of the page:

What you need:
– STM32Cube-IOT, I have used the STM32F10xx-micro.
– GigaDevice USB-to-UART Driver
The whole working setup:
1) Click on the “Drivers” tab and go to the “USB to UART” tab.
2) Choose “Generic Driver” and you can see the softuart in the device list.
3) Edit the name
4) Click in the “Configure” button

Geography of the Dead Sea
Located in Jordan, the Dead Sea is the lowest natural point on Earth, at 402 feet below sea level. It’s positioned in a basin of approximately 6,645 square miles that drains to the Jordan River.
The Dead Sea is covered with salt deposits and has a high mineral content (salinity of over 30 percent) because of extensive salt mining. Though the water is brackish, it does not support marine life.
The Dead Sea doesn’t receive any surface water; its waters are primarily drawn down to subterranean aquifers. A rainwater catchment system is employed by the Bureau of Reclamation to capture rainwater that flows from the eastern slopes of the Judean Desert.
The only permanent river flow into the Dead Sea is the Jordan River, a tributary of the River Jordan and the Sea of Galilee.

Kicad Schematic Library maker is a simple command line tool that will enable you to create nice looking schematic libraries in kicad.
In the terminal run this script by writing “schematic-lib-maker” to input pin names and directory where you want to save the output files.

Just a correction here, KIcad libraries are NOT free as you state above. They are only free if you purchase the latest kicad version, version 4.0 or later, and if you’ve an active kicad license subscription. So if you are not one of those then it’s not free as you state above.
What is out source? I have never heard of that. Is that like after you purchase the license you have the right to make the library for a product you may sell or what?. Or, is it like you have the right to make the library and give it to someone else to use for free?Pages
