What are the Black History Facts?

Before we were freed by President Lincoln, we were called ‘nigger‘. We had to learn to say “Master” and Yes Sir and Yes Madam.
While the term nigger remained, after we were freed, we were called ‘colored people

We were called ‘colored people’ until around the late 1960’s. Then the word for us was ‘Negro‘ with a capital “N”.  Somewhere in this line up of racial identities, we became rebellious and threw up the Black Power Hand Sign and all of a sudden, Black became cool.

In the 70’s we coined ourselves, Afro-Americans where large bushy hair-dos defined who we were as a group of people.

By the mid-1980’s to date,  accepted the label ‘African-American‘. We are hyphenated Americans as Germans, Italians, Hispanics, Jews, and Latinos; etc..

There is no title, white American. They are called Caucasian or Anglo-Saxons.

Has the melting pot melted? What does the term “not Black enough” mean to you? Black history – whose story? What can we do to make race relations better in America? Who is more racist Whites or Blacks? I am not an African-American…my birth certificate says Negro! Who Am I? What Am I? Whole or 3/5ths? Do I hate myself? Why have I added so many extras to make me look like other races? Nappy-head or weaved hair? Let’s open the dialog.
